Protocols that are used
KeepCloud accessible through different protocols (http, https, ftp, ftps and sftp).
WebDAV (Web Distributed Authoring and Versioning enabled) is an extension of the http protocol for managing directories and resources from a remote web server and a client. Natively integrated into most PC, Mac or Linux OS, WebDAV allows you to retrieve and publish files quickly and easily. The main objective is to enable WebDAV writing across the web and not just reading data.
The advantages of WebDAV are:
- Using the http protocol that passes easily through NAT routers and firewalls.
- Securing easy transport by the use of https protocol, which encrypts the contents of data exchanged
- Seamless integration across all products that support WebDAV
Indeed, with WebDAV, three types of access are available. You can view and store your files:
- Via a web browser to https
- Access via client software or, for connecting directly to a particular space on a server. They can run on PC, Mac or Linux OS.
- Via the console natively integrated with Windows, Linux and Mac OS
